From Octaphilosophy by André Chiang.
Cookbook by Taiwanese chef André Chiang, who owns Restaurant André, a 2-Michelin star restaurant in Singapore. Indeed it is rather octo-"philosophical", with musings and highly conceptual theories by Chiang on food. It's not simply a cookbook - but rather, more of a restaurant biography. The recipes are complex, and probably difficult for amateur cooks to recreate at home, but the book itself is very high quality and a nice read, with several ingenious creations (like Charcoal Dough Sticks, a contemporary twist on the traditional youtiao, a Taiwanese breakfast staple) and lovely photographs.
